People against Sugar Tax sends FOI request to Public Health England

People against Sugar Tax has sent a Freedom of Information request to Public Health England, asking them how many meetings they've held with the Obesity Health Alliance since July 2015, and for all correspondence between the two groups to be published.

Extensive behind-the-scenes lobbying from health campaigners has been the main reason why the sugar tax has been given the go-ahead. Without it, there would be no sugar tax.

Behind-the-scenes lobbying by unaccountable and unelected health campaigners is wrong in an age of open and transparent government.

It's time for Public Health England to come clean about all of their contacts with health campaigners over the last two years.
