We need less hypocrisy from MPs on the cost of living

People against Sugar Tax has criticised MPs for going on about rising inflation and food costs when at the same time they're supporting the inflation-busting sugar tax, which starts next year.

Just in the last few days, Tom Brake, the MP for Carshalton and Wallington, posted a tweet in which he expressed concern about the inflation rate for food and drink reaching 4.1%. In February 2016, he said on his website that he supported the sugar tax.

Any MP who supports the inflation-busting sugar tax has no credibility when expressing concern about the inflation rate for food and drinks going up just before Christmas.

If MPs such as Tom Brake are genuinely concerned about the inflation issue, then they need to re-consider their support for the regressive sugar tax.
