People against Sugar Tax urges Theresa May to stand firm on obesity strategy
People against Sugar Tax has written to the Prime Minister, urging her to stand firm on the obesity strategy, and not to cave into demands from health campaigners for additional measures.
Some health campaigners are using Theresa May's political difficulties to renew their demands for more nanny state interventions on food and soft drinks.
"We can all see that the current government is weak, and is going through some difficulties. But it seems that health campaigners are taking advantage of this to further their demands for a beefed up obesity strategy."
"We've written to the Prime Minister reminding her that the obesity strategy announced last summer is the most comprehensive in the world, and that there are more important political issues she needs to be working on instead."
