People against Sugar Tax calls for sugar tax to be included on price labels in shops

People against Sugar Tax has formally written to Sainsbury's and Tesco, asking them to consider including on the price labels the amount of sugar tax customers will be paying when the unpopular tax starts in April.

With the Seattle soda tax, which started this month, Costco are including the amount of tax on the label, so customers know exactly how much tax has been added to the price of their drinks.

"We think it's important that customers know exactly how much they're going to be ripped off by when this tax starts in April."

"We've just written to Sainsbury's and Tesco, and we'll be writing to all of the other major retailers in the next few weeks too."
