MPs are 'spineless' for allowing the sugar tax to go through
People against Sugar Tax has criticised 'spineless' MPs for approving the sugar tax as part of the Finance Bill voted on in Parliament yesterday.
The Finance Bill debate was the last opportunity for MPs to block the sugar tax before it comes into force in April 2018.
"There are at least 100 MPs who are known to be opposed to the sugar tax. With one or two notable exceptions, the rest of them have just sat on their hands in letting this regressive tax go through Parliament yesterday."
"Why won't these spineless MPs stand up to sugar tax lobbyists?"
